Organizations Overview

Established in 2000. Based on the belief that "theater exists there," he aims to create works that acquire new perspectives by connecting theater with everyday life, rather than unrelated activities in some distant place. The flag-raising performance "Hafu" was written by sitting artist Yu Kusuki and performed again in 2006. It was made into a novel in 2012 (published by Bungeisha). Director Tomo Matsuura, who has also reconstructed classic plays such as Juliet Capulet and Uncle Vanya!, was selected for the second round of the Young Director Competition sponsored by the Directors Association in 2004 and 2005. In 2013, he won the Yamaki Prize at the Guiffoisii Competition for "The Man on the Bridge". In the first screening of the 2019 Toga Theater Contest, "In Front of the Greenhouse" (written by Kunishi Kishida) was described as "the most accurate expression of the world of the work."
