Synopsis
Higuchi Ichiba's biography of Higuchi Ichiba from Meiji 23, when he was nineteen years old, to Meiji 31, two years after Ichiba's death. Natsuko (Higuchi Ichiyo), a widow of
father and brother who became the head of the Higuchi family at a young age, was burdened with the poverty of her mother, Taki, and sister, Kuniko. He spends his days struggling alone to live up to his mother's expectations and his sister's kindness. Natsuko, who has neither the freedom to fall in love with
nor the room to dream of the future, is almost crushed by the feeling of stagnation, and finally decides that she has left her body in this world just to rub ink and move the brush.
