Organizations Overview

The Chiba Symphony Orchestra is the only professional orchestra in Chiba Prefecture that inherits the 31-year activities of its predecessor, the New Philharmonic Orchestra Chiba, and was changed to the Chiba Symphony Orchestra in October 2016, and is now in its 34th year.
We perform at approximately 20 concerts every year, including regular concerts, prefectural art theaters, and concerts in various places, in an effort to promote the music culture of Chiba Prefecture. In addition, for the next generation of children, we conduct about 50 elementary, junior high and high school music appreciation classes every year, which are co-sponsored by Chiba Prefecture and the municipal board of education, and continue to convey the wonders of music by performing in more than 150 concerts a year, including visits to kindergartens and special needs schools and various chamber music.
In April 2016, I invited Kazufumi Yamashita as music director and started a new challenge with the slogan of "Omachi no Orchestra". The fresh and lively performance has won the support of many Chiba residents, and we are steadily building our position as an orchestra that is loved and loved by the people of Chiba Prefecture.
